CLICK HERE TO WATCH VIDEOThe wisdom of India’s Vedic tradition, as brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, seems to be spreading in a coordinated manner around the world. Recent meetings with doctors from the United Arab Emrites (UAE), USA and India are an example of this trend.
Robert Schneider, M.D., Dean of the Maharishi College of Perfect Health has just completed a trip to the UAE where he met with Emirati leaders who plan to establish “the most advanced health care facilities in the world--integrating modern and natural approaches to medical care”.
Dr. Schneider also met with medical leaders in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and other cities to discuss the applications of Maharishi Ayurveda to modern health care.
He then traveled to India and participated in a traditional medicine workshop hosted by the Ministry of Health wherein participants explored the application of Ayurveda to world health. During his stay in India, Dr. Schneider signed an agreement with the Indian government for substantial funding of research on the anti-aging effects of a traditional Maharishi Ayurveda herbal rasayana.
He also established an agreement with a top Ayurvedic university for the development of the curriculum at the Maharishi College of Perfect Health. Dr. Schneider says that “the plan is to establish these institutions in all countries, starting with the U.S., Indian and the UAE".
The Maharishi College of Perfect Health at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, began last year with a pre-med course and is planning to continue with a master’s degree program in Maharishi Ayurveda for health professionals.
Maharishi, the founder of Transcendental Meditation and its corresponding universities, sums the program up in this way: “We nourish all trends and tendencies of life everywhere. It is this that will allow the whole world to live the best that life has to offer. It is this that will allow us to make obsolete the old understanding that life is a struggle and to end suffering for mankind in this generation.”
